How Search Works

Use the search bar to find standards, datasheets, statistics reports, and training. Then refine results with the filters (facets) on the left. Below are quick explanations and simple examples to help you get started.

Search bar

Enter keywords like title, description. Results update to show items related to what you typed.

Example: Type welding and you’ll see welding standards, reports, and training courses.

Filters (Facets)

Click the checkboxes on the left to narrow results by product type, modality, or segments etc. Filters work together, each additional filter narrows the list further.

Example: Select Training Courses and only those courses are shown. Then select Instructor Led filter in the Modality facet to see only instructor-led training courses appear.

Counts beside filters

The number next to a filter shows how many items match that filter currently. Those numbers adjust as you add/remove filters.

Example: Standard (331) means 331 standards are available. If you pick another filter, that number may drop to show only the subset that matches both.

Sorting & relevance

Results default to what’s most relevant to your search. You can switch the sort to show newest items first by choosing Date.

Example: Searching a topic may show an older but highly relevant standard first. Switch to Date to surface the latest editions.

Quick tips for new users

Start broad (one keyword) and then narrow with filters.
If results are too many, select a filter that is relevant to your product search and that often helps the most.
Combine keywords and filters for precise results (for example: search welding + filter Standard).

Think of search like shopping: the search bar finds relevant items, and filters let you zoom in until you find exactly what you need.
